Text Susannah Dabney Anderson’s will identifies Dorothy (Dabney) Anderson Trice as her daughter. Dorothy was listed with her 3 older half-siblings as entitled to a share of lands to be granted in Pamunkey Neck (now King William Co., VA) in a report dated June, 1699, by an Assembly Committee appointed to examine land claims. The patent issued to her husband and her was dated 25 Apr 1701. Since she had to be at least 21 to receive a patent, she must have been born before 25 Apr 1680. If at least 6 months is allowed for government processes preceding issuance of the patent, her birth year must have been 1679 or earlier.
