    • Lucy Dabney was born to John and Anna (Harris) Dabney in Hanover County, Virginia.
      She married Thomas McReynolds November 31, 1781, in Bedford County, Virginia, where she and her mother were living at the time. Thomas was a son of James McReynolds, (1719-1807) and Mary Bell McReynolds (1729-1799) of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, then Bedford County, Virginia. Thomas and Lucy’s children were Mary, John Dabney (m. Maria C. NIchols; James Harris, m. Ann Minter; Anna; Thomas; and Elizabeth.
      Thomas was an officer in the Revolutionary War, commissioned Lieutenant May 10, 1777, in Capt.Gross Scruggs’ Company in the 5th Virginia Regiment. Surviving service records mention him from 1777 to December, 1778. He received a delayed payment of £77 for his army service June 18, 1784.
      When the 1790 census was taken, he and Lucy were living in Rockingham County, North Carolina, where their household consisted of three males under 17, two males 17 or over, and three females.
      Thomas died in Moore County, North Carolina, in 1800. His will was dated Aug 25, 1797 and was proved in Nov. 1800, in Moore County (WB A-210). After his death, Lucy moved to Bedford County, Tennessee. [2, 3, 4, 5]
